Более подробно причина этого процесса выглядит так: слизистая оболочка носовых ходов и десен у маленького ребенка крепко взаимосвязаны, поэтому, как только начинают резаться зубы, усиливающееся из-за воспалительного процесса кровообращение в деснах аналогично усиливается в слизистой носа. Как итог, её железы тут же запускают процесс продуцирования слизи, что и порождает насморк. Особенно стоит насторожиться родителям, которые заметили, что ребенок теряет аппетит, становится вялым, у него поднимается температура выше субфебрильной (37-37,5 считается нормой для прорезывания зубов), либо добавляется кашель. Кроме того, Комаровский советует отслеживать дыхание малыша во время появления насморка: если выдох очень громкий, есть вероятность, что начался инфекционный воспалительный процесс.
